YouTuber Maridhas was arrested by a special team of personnel from the Chennai Cyber Crime Police in Madurai on Monday (June 8, 2026).
Sources said a case was registered against him by the Chennai City Cyber Crime Police for posting videos allegedly defaming the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led coalition government in Tamil Nadu.
In connection with this case, the team of police personnel from Chennai, along with the Madurai City Police, deployed heavy security around Maridhas’ house located in Surya Nagar in Madurai.

Subsequently, the police arrested him and took him to Chennai.
