This latest update brings the national death toll to 628, comprising 92 confirmed cases and 536 deaths linked to related symptoms. Recent data indicates that fatalities were distributed across several regions, with the Dhaka division recording the highest number of losses. Furthermore, 1,092 new suspected cases have emerged during this period, leading to 974 hospital admissions. Since the initial outbreak was identified on March 15, the total number of individuals exhibiting symptoms has surpassed 80,000. While medical facilities continue to manage a significant patient load, over 61,000 people have successfully recovered and been discharged from hospitals to date.
The rising death toll and high volume of hospitalizations highlight a critical public health challenge that requires urgent monitoring and intervention to curb the spread of the disease.
