DAR ES SALAAM: DAR CITY have expressed confidence in their quest to retain the Dar es Salaam Regional Basketball Association (RBA) title after opening their campaign with an impressive 72-53 victory over Savio at Don Bosco Grounds in Upanga over the weekend. The defending champions produced a dominant display to begin the season on a positive note, underlining their determination to remain among the league’s top contenders. Dar City player Ally Abdallah has said the experience gained from competing in major African club competitions has significantly boosted the team’s confidence and improved its overall performance. He has said reaching the quarter-finals of the continental tournament exposed the team to high-level competition and provided valuable lessons that are now helping them perform strongly in domestic contests. We learned many things and returned with greater confidence, which was evident in our performance against Savio,” he has said. Abdallah has said the team remains focused on maintaining consistency throughout the season as they pursue their goal of successfully defending the championship. He has also noted that competition in the RBA League has become increasingly tough due to growing investment by clubs, a development he believes will contribute to the growth of basketball in the country. Following the opening victory, Dar City have shifted their attention to their next league fixture against Magone, scheduled to take place on June 12 at Don Bosco Grounds in Upanga.
