The Central Bank of Cyprus is scheduled to host a forum focused on financial literacy on June 18 at its headquarters. Titled “Financial Literacy for Life – European Citizens’ Dialogue,” the event will feature insights from prominent banking leaders, including CBC Governor Christodoulos Patsalides and Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras. A primary component of the session involves the release of new data gathered from a recent study on how Cypriot households approach saving and investing. Researchers collected these findings through both in-person surveys conducted across various cities and digital participation from the general public. By analyzing these attitudes and perceptions, the bank aims to highlight the necessity of improving financial education throughout the region. The discussion is expected to provide a comprehensive look at current public sentiment regarding personal finance management.
The event highlights a concerted effort by European central banks to address gaps in public financial knowledge and better understand the economic behaviors of their citizens.
