The suspects, identified as Md. Solaiman, Md. Sagar Mia, and Md. Jewel Rana, were apprehended following a series of raids conducted by the Cyber Police Center. Investigations revealed that the group utilized mobile financial services and cryptocurrency platforms to facilitate illegal betting activities and transfer funds internationally. The suspects reportedly acted as agents, collecting SIM cards and financial accounts to support these gambling websites, which promoted betting on international sports and casino games. Authorities discovered that the group operated by taking commissions from the collected funds before funneling the remainder out of the country. The CID is currently utilizing digital forensics and financial intelligence to track the broader network, noting that the rise of cryptocurrency has made identifying such illicit operations increasingly challenging.
