Вищий антикорупційний суд затвердив угоду про визнання винуватості між прокуратурою та колишнім головою Верховного Суду Всеволодом Князєвим, в результаті якої він отримав 5 років тюрми. The High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine has officially approved a plea agreement involving former Supreme Court Chief Justice Vsevolod Knyazev, sentencing him to five years in prison. Knyazev admitted to accepting a massive bribe in exchange for favorable judicial rulings, a crime categorized as receiving undue benefits on an especially large scale. As part of the sentencing, he faces the confiscation of his personal assets, including real estate and over $200,000 in savings, alongside the forfeiture of the $1.2 million bribe itself. Furthermore, the former official has agreed to donate over $1.1 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine via the 'Come Back Alive' foundation. Beyond his prison term, Knyazev is barred from holding positions in judicial or law enforcement agencies for three years. This resolution follows his cooperation with investigators, during which he provided testimony against several other judges implicated in the corruption scheme linked to businessman Kostyantyn Zhevago.
This case marks a significant milestone in Ukraine's anti-corruption efforts, as it involves the conviction and imprisonment of the highest-ranking judicial official in the country's history.
