Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has confirmed the government's commitment to constructing a new clinical hospital in Skopje on the plateau situated in front of the Boris Trajkovski sports arena. This location is currently privately owned, and authorities are actively negotiating a land-swap agreement with the owner to secure the site. The strategic vision involves connecting the new facility to the existing '8th of September' hospital via an underground tunnel, effectively integrating it with the nearby PET center and the Bucharest polyclinic to create a comprehensive medical complex. Beyond the capital, the government is also advancing plans for healthcare infrastructure projects in other regions. These include the development of a clinical hospital in Stip, which will feature an attached medical faculty and student dormitory, as well as a new clinical hospital in Tetovo and an expanded health center in Kicevo.
The project represents a significant shift in national healthcare infrastructure strategy, aiming to centralize medical services in Skopje while simultaneously upgrading regional hospital capacities.
