The company claims its agentic AI system, named Design Conductor, has autonomously designed an entire RISC-V CPU core, dubbed VerCore, from initial specifications to a functional design file. This new CPU operates at 1.5 gigahertz and offers performance comparable to laptop processors from 2011.
Verkor.io emphasizes that their approach, which uses a single AI agent to manage the entire design process from start to finish, is more effective than employing specialized AI tools for individual tasks. The Design Conductor system mimics the structured workflow of human chip architects, guiding the AI through design, implementation, and testing phases autonomously after receiving a brief design prompt.
