Marko Ševrović, a professor at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences in Zagreb, recently highlighted significant deficiencies in Croatia's approach to road safety. During a televised interview, he argued that the country is failing to implement modern traffic management solutions at an adequate pace. Furthermore, Ševrović pointed out that elderly motorists are becoming a more prominent factor in traffic accidents than younger drivers. He emphasized that current safety strategies are insufficient to address the evolving challenges on Croatian roads. The expert called for a more proactive stance to modernize infrastructure and safety protocols to mitigate these rising risks.
The statement highlights a critical need for policy updates and infrastructure modernization to address shifting demographic risks in national traffic safety.
