Govt cuts subsidised LPG cylinders under Ujjwala from 9 to 4

The Indian government has reduced the annual limit for subsidized LPG cylinders provided to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) from nine to four. According to officials from the Petroleum Ministry, this adjustment aligns with the actual consumption patterns of households under the program, which typically utilize between four and five cylinders annually. The scheme, which has successfully distributed approximately 10.55 crore connections to date, aims to provide cleaner cooking fuel to low-income families.
