Cairns Foods, a prominent Zimbabwean snack manufacturer, has unveiled a redesigned packaging strategy for its Spuds potato crisps line. The updated design introduces distinct colors for each flavor variant, replacing the previous uniform brown packaging approach. According to the company's marketing manager, the reformulation is purely visual, with the underlying product quality and taste remaining unchanged. The new packaging aims to provide consumers with immediate visual identification of flavor options at the point of purchase. The rollout of the rebranded product began this week across major retailers and distribution networks throughout Zimbabwe. Cairns Foods, which has operated since the 1920s, manages multiple snack brands including Willards and Cashel Valley across three production facilities.
This rebranding effort reflects how established consumer goods companies adapt their visual marketing strategies to enhance shelf appeal and improve purchasing decisions in competitive snack markets.
