Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, recently expressed a critical view regarding the current effectiveness of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). He suggested that the institution has largely lost its utility as a functional platform for constructive communication between Moscow and Western nations. According to the diplomat, the organization's internal processes have become increasingly politicized, hindering its ability to serve as a neutral mediator. Polyansky emphasized that the OSCE is struggling to address the core security concerns that define the modern geopolitical landscape. Consequently, the Russian official indicated that the prospects for revitalizing the organization's role in regional diplomacy appear dim under the current circumstances.

This assessment highlights the deepening diplomatic rift between Russia and Western-led international institutions, signaling a potential shift away from traditional multilateral security frameworks.
