S. Korea to send special envoys to Mexico to support World Cup

The South Korean government is sending two Democratic Party lawmakers, Lee Jae-jung and Kim Nam-hee, to Mexico as special presidential envoys. During their visit, they are scheduled to meet with President Claudia Sheinbaum to present a congratulatory message from President Lee Jae Myung regarding Mexico's historic third time hosting the FIFA World Cup. The delegation will also engage with Mexican parliamentary members to discuss foreign policy objectives and explore opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation. Beyond their diplomatic duties, the envoys plan to attend the upcoming match between South Korea and Mexico in Guadalajara to support their national team. The tournament, which is being co-hosted by Mexico, the United States, and Canada, is set to begin this week and will continue through mid-July.
